From head to toe – and never overlook your footwear, if you truly want style – these looks are complete and fine-tuned to each personality.

One tip to freshen up a stale look is to pop your collar. That's just an entry-level fashion tip, so to speak, but you might be surprised by the amount of edge it can add to a guy's style.

Even though we at TORO respect a man who's not too timid to wear bright colours, it's worth remembering from time to time that style isn't exactly the same as clothing. If you're not going to wear it with confidence, then put it back in the closet. These street-style pictures from New York fashion blogger Karl-Edwin Guerre show why confidence matters most, even if you're sticking to neutrals.

In Vancouver, Darryl Humphrey was taking full advantage of the party atmosphere at the Olympic Games, where he photographed real men with real style. Mayor Gregor Robertson and former figure skater Emanuel Sandhu (above) were on hand for the unveiling of Vancouver artist Pamela Masik's show "The Forgotten" at her new studio, nestled in behind the Olympic Village. Humphrey also captured the vibe at other events with these candid shots.

Stylebook contributor Katja Hentschel reports from Germany, where the arrival of Berlin Fashion Week brought the party scene to a boil. For reasons unknown to us, even actor Matt Dillon was there, as shown in this gallery of pictures, which starts off with some examples of classic denim styles for men.

The one the panel ofdesigners, photographers, bloggers, retailers and editors could agree on: "Anyone with style could care less about a fashion." North Americans aren't alone when it comes to bearing chilly temperatures, at least not recently. A cold snap has swept Western Europe including Germany, where 27 centimetres of snow fell in the capital.
