DAILY TORO

This past weekend, I finally got around to seeing The Invention of Lying, Ricky Gervais’ second American romantic comedy. Not unlike Ghost Town, it was funny but a little too cute, a sentiment Gervais’ television projects (The Office, Extras) avoided until their final moments.
With Cemetery Junction, Gervais re-teams with Office co-creator Stephen Merchant go back to their roots. Specifically, Reading in the 1970s, as the film follows a group of working class lads just trying to earn a pound in the advertising industry. The film also stars Ralph Fiennes, Emily Watson, and Matthew Goode. Check out the trailer below (best line: “Send your mom my love. Your dad still around?”)
