While Canadians may frown on infidelity, it's not an offence in the Criminal Code. That's not the case in parts of Malaysia, where a tribal court recently ruled that a man and his lover pay a fine of four water buffalo, one pig and 2,000 ringgit (US$586) in compensation for their indiscretion.

According to an AFP report, the man's wife took him to the Penempang Native Court after she caught the lovers in shorts and sarong.

The husband was living with the other woman at the time but both claimed to be just "best friends."
