TAYLOR LAUTNER TO PLAY STRETCH ARMSTRONG

The recent surge of toy-related blockbusters - Transformers, G.I. Joe, Angels & Legos et al - shows no signs of slowing down. Adaptations of Battleship and Monopoly are already well into development, and this past weekend Universal announced production on a Stretch Armstrong film, starring Taylor Lautner.

You remember Stretch Armstrong. He was a plastic man-doll that had really stretchy arms, popularized by the Kenner company in 1976. His blonde hair and skin tone made him the ultimate accessory for promoting aryan athleticism to schoolchildren, so Lautner, aka the Native American werewolf from Twilight, was the natural choice. The script will be penned by the guy who wrote Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, though as you can see by the commercial below, the concept may require more ingenuity than one writer is capable of.
